The South East Gambling Addiction Support Service (SEGAS) is a new initiative developed by the Cornmarket Project, a part of Wexford Local Development. The Cornmarket Project is a trusted community-based organisation with a long-standing commitment to supporting individuals through recovery, reintegration, and personal development. Our new service extends this mission by offering dedicated, evidence-based support to individuals affected by gambling and gaming addiction across the South East region of Ireland.

Our Approach

We understand that gambling and gaming addiction can have a profound impact on individuals, families, and communities. That's why our service is grounded in the principles of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)—two of the most respected, research-backed therapeutic approaches for gambling addiction recovery.

  • Motivational Interviewing helps individuals find their own motivation for change, focusing on empathy, collaboration, and empowering the client.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy enables clients to understand and manage the thoughts, behaviours, and triggers that drive addictive behaviour, equipping them with practical tools for long-term recovery.

Our team of trained, non-judgmental professionals provides support tailored to the needs of each individual, helping clients move forward at their own pace.
